Physical Description:
Smiley is a chinese elf. Like most elves, he is quite beautiful. He has a slightly stronger build than most elves due to extensive physical training. His Drake form is a yellow and black eastern dragon. He has a small mohawk as a haircut. He has four small golden rings on his right ear and one on his left eyebrow. He only wears clothes colored in black, yellow and white and never dress the same twice. He has a very good, yet slightly odd, sense of fashion, his wardrobe containing anything from tuxedoes to leather pants and jackets. He has chinese dragons tattoed on both his arms and back.

Psychological Description:
The only thing certain about Smiley's psych is that he does what he wants and when he wants to. He lives at a hundred miles per hour because he is convinced that no matter what he does, he's going to end up dead in the gutters somewhere, alone and soon. He lives by the day because tomorrow will bring his end, well probably. He seems erratic and frivolous most of the time. He is capable of doing horrible things at time yet seems to genuinely care for others at another time. He is either a guy very bad at hiding that he cares about things and people or he is a manipulative sociopath with every helping hand he lends, a carefully planned end game. He has also proven to be a highly intelligent, cunning and socially capable creature. He has a strong sense of humor and is a notorious practical joker.

Character's History:
Smiley seems to have appeared out of nowhere in 2049. The fact that he speaks the Tir Tairngire Sperethiel fluently, even natively according to some, would suggest that he was born there. But there seems to be no record of him from before this year. He was a member of Redmond based biker gang called the Hoods. A band of self-righteous Robin Hood styles misfits, stealing from the rich and corporations and giving back to the community. They were also operating a small prostitution ring, genuinely protecting the girls, giving them decent cuts and never forcing them to work. They weren't big enough a trouble to be hunted down so the small gang survived about ten years, at which point a sudden attack from the Halloweeners got them wiped out. Smiley survived because he was with the Octagon Triads buying girls from them. A few weeks later, Smiley stormed one of the Halloweeners hangout and killed sixteen of them before burning down the building. He left what would become his signature and a symbol of fear in the years to come, a black business card saying "Service with a smile".

In the following year, a Mysterious Man took Smiley under his wing. This man had many killers under his employment and acted as a middle man between them and employers. A freelance Johnson for assassinations in other words. Under his employment, Smiley worked as wetwork artist, more importantly as a shadowrunner, for the first time. His talent for getting close to a target, kill him and hide/destroy bodies and forensic evidence is what made Smiley's reputation go skyhigh. He also added protection and escort jobs to his curriculum vitae. Suddenly, after two years of service to the Mystery Man, Smiley apparently killed him, made his body disappear and left a black business card in his car. After that, he joined his first group of shadowrunners, a band of sociopath on a killing spree. It didn't match Smiley's finess and panache and the relationship ended a year after with his whole team dead, his Johnson dead, his fixer dead and him getting away with millions of nuyens in credsticks. Instead of retiring, he hired his current fixer and lawyer, and worked towards expending his operations and prestige. Having the money to back things up, he started working for very powerful people and asking favors in return. He worked for the CIA, the FBI and the UCAS Marshalls. He took jobs that made him travel the entire globe, also providing opportunities to make contacts outside of the UCAS. He also did jobs for Lone Star and now for Knight Errant. He multiplied both the numbers in his bank accounts with well placed investments and the number of favors owed. He managed to work many competing employers without ever working against any of them. In 2066, he founded a Seattle based retro alternative rock/ hardcore band named "Thanks for Coming Out" with other shadowrunners he met during his many jobs and released their first album the same year. He left his loyal fixer with all his estates, belongings and investments and disappeared completely off grid for nearly five years.

While gone, he trained and honed his various magical skills and abilities. He reappeared last year, stronger than ever, and the first thing he did was reclaiming his assets from his still loyal fixer and laywer. Within two weeks, he met with his old band members and planned for a second album and a more ambitious series of concert throughout the UCAS. About three months after his return, he joined Virtual Underworld 93 and started taking jobs again. A few weeks ago, Smiley also started getting involved in politics, helping a little bit the metahuman friendly organisations and projects for the incoming elections, something he never did before.

A few runs for the fun:

A family man:
The Mystery Man had tasked Smiley with a special job. The target was a Seattle Assistant District Attorney and was specificaly asked to make it look like suicide. He also had to not leave his signature black card behind. It was his first special job and Smiley accepted for the cheer sake of challenge and test of cunning. He stalked the target for two weeks, noting everything useful about him. When he sensed his legwork was complete, he had already an idea. Why masking a kill as a suicide when you can make the target kill himself. Smiley waited ouside his daughter school for his wife to pick her up. Being invisible, he knocked them both and kidnapped them. He then put on them timed explosive collars. When the target went home, he found his family still unconscious tied with explosive collars, Smiley sitting in the kitchen with a wicked smile and a gun with an integrated silencer on the table. At that time, the collars on his family had only a few minutes left before exploding. Smiley told him that the only way to save his family was to sat at the table, to take the gun and to kill himself by blowing a hole in his own head. After the target killed himself, Smiley untied his family and placed them in the daughter's room with their memory modified to cover his involvement. The next day, local news channels on the matrix announced the tragic suicide of Assistant District Attorney James Anderson.

The hand that feeds:
The Mystery Man had asked Smiley to do a circuit. A list of five names that needed to disappear within a very short time frame was his circuit. Smiley killed and destroyed the bodies of the five people on the list and did so within the time frame. To celebrate, he asked one of the girls working in the prostitution ring he was still operating since the days of the Hoods. After a night of fun, he gave her the keys of his favorite car and told her to use it to go home. The car exploded when she tried to start it. Smiley is no fool and new instantly who had tried to blow him up. Bomberman, a rival assassin working for the Mystery Man had always wanted Smiley's prestige and the position of First amongst the Mystery Man's organisation. A title reserved for the best amongst them. Believing Smiley dead, Bomberman was easily tracked down and knocked unconcious. After a few hours of torture for the fun of it, there was no evidence to suggest he was hired for the job, until the Mystery Man left a message on Bomberman's commlink asking if the Smiling One had been taken cared of. Already broken under torture, the would be First did not resist interrogation and told Smiley that the Mystery Man's last employer asked the man to clean house and tie up loose ends, including the assassin. After finally snaping Bomberman's neck, Smiley tracked the Mystery Man down to his car in an alley after a meeting with an employer. He entered the limo uninvited and without even asking questions, he killed the Mystery Man. The car was found by a Lone Star patrol a few days later, a black card on the back seat and the Bomberman's appartment empty with that same card.

Time for politics:
Money Johnson contacted Smiley and asked him to find and protect an Ork in possession of embarassing evidence against a Humanis politician close to Brackheaven. Smiley enlisted the help of his usual teammates for protection jobs and after some quick legwork on the Ork, he gave them precise instructions. They had to go to the dinner at a precise time in front of the building where the Ork was hiding, park their car in a specefic lot across the street, stay there for an hour then go. They had to switch cars at a precise location, not forgetting to empty their car of any evidence, the guns in the trunk included. After that, they had to join with Smiley at the usual entrance to the Underground. Under no circumstances they were to contact Smiley. They did what they were told and went for a soycaff and a pie at the dinner. Smiley for his part, asked a favor from a local Ork gang he knew well and enlisted their help in abducting the target and escorting him to the Underground. They went to the building and knocked out the target. After a small dispute between two Orks, Smiley came outside with the target, his head covered in a tick black bag. They took off in their armored minivans following a precise itinery to the Underworld. On their way, a Humanis SINless hit team attacked the convoy with heavy artillery. A reporter from local news arrived in a van almost at the same time the firefight started and immediately started filming the hit team firing guns. After a two minutes firefight, Knight Errant showed up and cornered the hit team. When it was time to check up on Smiley and the Orks, Smiley was gone and all they found was a bunch of seemingly scared Orks with their crying children. The reporter, Veronica Dallas, quickly went live with the Knight Errant lieutenant in charge of the operation. In the news, a group of terrorists from an unkown hate group had attacked an innocent group of Ork families on a trip and Knight Errant Lieutenant Jack Spencer was the hero who averted a tragedy. While this was going, Smiley's team were following their instructions. When they changed cars, a surprise was waiting for them. Instead of guns, they found the target tied up and unconcious in their trunk. After a facepalm or two, they took off with the Ork and got him to safety. Smiley had secretly stuffed him there magically during the Orks altercation. He had also contacted Veronica beforehand with instruction to pick up some Ork kids on a corner of a street and exchange them with the guns when KE would show up. They used guns with caseless blanks to keep the hit team firing without incriminating themselves. With the guns in Veronica's van and the kids discreetly transfered in the convoy, the con was nearly complete. He had also tipped off Spencer who was also on Smiley's usual payroll to arrive quickly after bullets would star flying. Conclusion, the target is safe with the evidence and huge Ork sympathy in the media. All of this... for a bottle of Irish Tir Na Nog Whiskey.
